PUNE (India CSR): In a momentous occasion, Bharat Forge Limited, a leading global manufacturing company, was honoured with the prestigious Gold Award in the Rural Development category at the CSR Times Awards 2024 on August 23, 2024. The esteemed award was presented by Dr. Pramod Sawant, the Chief Minister of Goa, at a glittering ceremony held in the majestic Darbar Hall of Raj Bhawan.

This recognition underscores Bharat Forge’s unwavering commitment to creating a positive and sustainable impact on the lives of people residing in rural areas across multiple key indicators.

At Bharat Forge, under the leadership of Shri Babasaheb Kalyani, CMD, and Shri Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and JMD, the company is deeply committed to enhancing rural livelihoods. These projects demonstrate the company’s commitment to community well-being through sustainable development. Below are five key indicators that highlight the effectiveness and reach of Bharat Forge’s rural initiatives.

Key initiatives include the construction of Bandharas and desilting of water bodies in villages such as Chilewadi, Amondi, and Wagholi, where water storage capacities have increased significantly.

  • Impact: For instance, the project at Wagholi benefited over 6,900 people, adding 75 TCM of water storage capacity. In Visapur, over 4,600 people gained from improved water availability due to the construction of Bandharas.

3. Health: Bringing Quality Healthcare to Rural Areas

Bharat Forge’s healthcare initiatives focus on early detection, particularly through cancer screening camps and telemedicine centers across eight villages. These telemedicine centers provide access to quality healthcare services, including consultations, diagnostics, and follow-up care, ensuring residents in remote areas receive essential medical attention.

  • Impact: For instance, the introduction of telemedicine centres has made healthcare more accessible for over eight villages, significantly reducing the need for long-distance travel to seek medical services.
