MUMBAI: For his incredible work towards the needy and underprivileged of the society, Dr. Huz (Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala), CEO of Wockhardt Foundation was felicitated with ‘Outstanding Leadership Award’ by Nurturing the Future Foundation.
Wockhardt Foundation is a not-for-profit organization known for its committed service to the poor, weak, and needy. The foundation, through its various programmes, works towards improving rural healthcare, sanitation and children and youth education. Till date, the foundation has positively impacted over 53 million people.
The honour was done by Ajay Ghuge, President of Nurturing the Future Foundation in the presence of volunteers of the foundation and residents from Kalyan – Badlapur area.
Dr. Huz said, “I am happy to receive this honour. It is a proud feeling to see our work being recognized across the city and country by different entities. Wockhardt Foundation will continue making such contributions for the betterment of the society.”
Dr. Huz encouraged volunteers at Nurturing the Future foundation to keep up and continue the good work towards the society.
Wockhardt Foundation is a national, not-for-profit organization engaged in social service and human welfare activities. Its 9 programmes have made perceptible change in its areas of operations to the lives of the underprivileged. Mobile 1000, its flagship programme, aims at operating 1000 Mobile Health Vans in rural India and administering free primary healthcare to 25 million Indians every year. As of date, there are 79 Mobile 1000 Vans operating in 18 states and doing yeoman service to rural India.
Its other programmes like Little Hearts, Pronto Toilet, Pronto Bio-Toilet, E-Learning, Khel Khel Mein, Wockhardt Skills Development Institute, SHUDHU water purification tablets and Adarsh Gram Yojana have made significant impact and it continues to expand its social coverage in areas where the need is the most.
