Chhattisgarh Government Greenlights Forest Land for Coal Supply to Rajasthan Power Plants

The Chhattisgarh government has approved the use of 91.21 hectares of forest land at the Parsa East and Kanta Basan (PEKB) coal block in the Hasdeo Aranya region. This decision aims to ensure a steady supply of coal to power plants in Rajasthan, supporting the state’s energy needs.

Continuous Power Supply Initiative

In a significant move to bolster Rajasthan’s energy infrastructure, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced the approval on Friday. The coal from Hasdeo Aranya will be crucial in supplying Rajasthan’s 4,340 MW power plants, ensuring uninterrupted power under the ‘Apna Agrani Rajasthan’ initiative.

“Rajasthan government is committed to ensuring uninterrupted power supply. Hearty thanks to Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Dev Sai on behalf of the entire Rajasthan family for granting permission by the Chhattisgarh government to use 91.21 hectares of forest land of Parsa East and Kanta Basan (PEKB) coal block operated in Hasdeo Aranya coalfield for the supply of coal to the power plants of Rajasthan,” Sharma posted on X.
