Ashok Leyland’s Generous Contribution to Cyclone Relief

Chennai (India CSR): Ashok Leyland, the Indian flagship of the Hinduja Group and a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer in the country, announced a generous donation of Rupees Three Crores to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Relief Fund. This significant contribution is aimed at aiding relief work and providing humanitarian assistance in the flood-hit areas following the devastating Michaung cyclone.

Upholding Community Support in Times of Crisis

The decision to donate underscores Ashok Leyland’s commitment to supporting communities during difficult times. The funds are intended to bolster the state government’s ongoing efforts to mitigate the impact of the Michaung cyclone, which has adversely affected the lives of many in Tamil Nadu.

CEO’s Statement on the Disaster and Relief Efforts

Speaking on the occasion, Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director & CEO of Ashok Leyland, expressed his deep concern over the destruction caused by the cyclonic storm and the subsequent heavy rains. He commended the quick and effective response of the Tamil Nadu Government in managing the crisis and ensuring that necessary relief measures are swiftly undertaken.

Ashok Leyland’s Pledge for Continuous Support “

Ashok Leyland has always been at the forefront in supporting government initiatives during calamities, and we remain committed to continuing our support in these challenging times,” Mr. Agarwal stated. He emphasized that as one of the oldest corporates in Tamil Nadu, it is Ashok Leyland’s duty to stand united with the government and provide unwavering support to the affected communities.

Formal Handover of the Donation

The cheque was formally handed over to Thiru M.K. Stalin, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, by Shenu Agarwal. This act of corporate responsibility reflects the company’s ethos and its dedication to contributing positively to society, especially in times of need.
