15 students spanning from different corners of India such as Budgam, Namsai, Uttarey, Gir Somnath etc felicitated with cash rewards at the launch of Dettol Banega Swasth India Season 10.
NEW DELHI (India CSR): Reckitt, a global leader in consumer health and hygiene, proudly declared the winners of the second Dettol Hygiene Olympiad, India’s largest hygiene-focused competition, held under the esteemed banner of Reckitt’s Dettol Banega Swasth India campaign. This initiative was crafted to elevate awareness about the critical importance of hygiene in safeguarding children’s health. At the prestigious launch event of Dettol Banega Swasth India Season 10 in Mumbai, the 15 triumphant Olympiad winners, along with their mentors, were honored for their remarkable achievements.
Success of Dettol Hygiene Olympiad 2.0
The Dettol Hygiene Olympiad 2.0 achieved significant reach, impacting over 30 million children across 28 states and 8 union territories in India. This initiative focused on instilling vital handwashing hygiene knowledge, even in remote areas. Additionally, it included students from 2500 gurukuls and religious schools, offering exam papers in Sanskrit to cater to a wide and diverse audience.
Hygiene Exam Levels and Prizes for Students Across India
The exam, catering to children aged 6 to 16, was organized into five levels with Multiple-Choice Questions on health and hygiene. It was structured by class: Level 1 for 1st and 2nd graders, Level 2 for 3rd and 4th graders, Level 3 for 5th and 6th graders, Level 4 for 7th and 8th graders, and Level 5 for 9th and 10th graders. Fifteen students nationally, three from each level, received cash prizes: INR 50,000 for first place, INR 35,000 for second, and INR 15,000 for third.
Reckitt’s DHO Success in Remote Indian Regions
In a statement highlighting the impact of the Dettol Hygiene Olympiad (DHO), Ravi Bhatnagar, Director of External Affairs & Partnerships at SOA, Reckitt, expressed immense satisfaction with the event’s reach.
He emphasized Reckitt’s dedication to promoting health, hygiene, and sanitation, which has inspired young minds across India. Bhatnagar proudly noted the Olympiad’s success in extending to India’s most remote areas, from border villages in Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat to regions near Nepal and Kashmir.
He celebrated the achievements of children from diverse regions, confident in their role in advancing India’s health progress.

Dettol Hygiene Olympiad: Educating India’s Youth on Hygiene Practices
The Dettol Hygiene Olympiad, a part of the Dettol Banega Swasth India initiative, has been pivotal in spreading awareness about hygiene and sanitation among India’s youth.
This national platform focuses on teaching children about critical handwashing times through the Dettol Hygiene Curriculum. The program emphasizes the importance of handwashing after using the toilet, before eating or preparing food, before feeding infants, after cleaning a child, and during illness. With its success, the initiative is set to return for a third edition next year, aiming to expand its reach and deepen its impact on children’s health education across India.
