Pune: Bharat Forge Ltd, a leading multinational conglomerate, reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation by organizing a tree plantation drive on the occasion of World Environment Day. The event took place at Pune Cantonment Garden and witnessed the presence of Mr. Kedar Dixit, Senior Vice President – Finance Department, Bharat Forge Ltd, who emphasized the company’s dedication to creating a sustainable future.
Building upon the achievements of the preceding year, Bharat Forge successfully carried out the plantation of 1,00,000 trees as part of this campaign. The estimated annual absorption of carbon dioxide per full grown tree is approximately 0.024 MT. As of now, Bharat Forge has already planted a total of 1,35,000 trees.
The tree plantation drive aligns with Bharat Forge’s vision of creating a greener and more sustainable future. The company has set an ambitious target of planting 10,00,000 trees by the year 2030.
In addition to the tree plantation drive, Bharat Forge has undertaken a remarkable initiative to transform organic kitchen waste into manure. Last year, the company successfully installed over 500 Composter Planters (CPs) in households, enabling the conversion of approximately 750 grams of daily organic waste into nutrient-rich manure. Building on this success, Bharat Forge plans to add another 500 CPs this year. Collectively, these CPs will effectively convert approximately 750 kilograms of daily organic waste into high-quality manure, promoting a circular economy and minimizing environmental impact.
