GMDA provided full support to create this sculpture, and they received complete assistance from M3M Foundation and The Hyphen to build these giant sculptures on their land.

Gurgaon: The Hyphen, an art collective for social impact, is proud to announce its collaboration with M3M Foundation and Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to create thought-provoking art installations aimed at promoting environmental conservation in Gurugram.

The Hyphen brought together sixteen talented artists from across the country to craft two massive sculptures made from recycled scrap metal. The Sparrow sculpture, installed at Khushboo Chowk, stands as a powerful reminder of the impact of mobile tower radiation on bird populations, urging the preservation of these essential creatures. Additionally, the Honeycomb structure, placed at IFFCO Chowk, emphasizes the urgent need to protect bees for a sustainable future, as their extinction could lead to a silent apocalypse wiping out human existence.

The Hyphen, in collaboration with M3M Foundation, will soon install an art installation on G20 logo made from plastic waste at HUDA Chowk. This installation aims to spread the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family) while advocating for a plastic-free environment. Another installation at AIT Chowk features a 22-foot hand made of industrial waste, holding up the earth, symbolizing the collective responsibility to protect the environment.

Book Launch Ceremony

Commenting on the collaboration, Dr. Payal Kanodia, the Chairperson and Trustee of M3M Foundation, expressed her pride in providing a platform for young artists while contributing to environmental conservation. She highlighted the commitment of M3M Foundation to make a tangible difference in the fields of environment, water, education, and health.

Subhash Yadav, Additional CEO of GMDA, applauded the efforts made by The Hyphen and M3M Foundation in the direction of environmental conservation and pledged the support of GMDA for such initiatives.

The Hyphen, a driving force behind these initiatives, remains devoted to empowering artists as change-makers, fostering creativity for a better world. The organization aims to continue collaborating with like-minded individuals and organizations to enhance the impact of art for positive change.

The Sparrow Sculpture at Khushboo Chowk by The Hyphen

The sparrow sculpture stands as a symbol of our commitment to fostering positive change through art. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and passion, this sculpture is a testament to the power of creativity in addressing socio-environmental issues. It serves as a visual reminder of the importance of preserving our ecosystem and safeguarding the delicate balance between nature and urbanization. This sparrow sculpture encapsulates our collective responsibility to protect and nurture our environment. The sparrow, an iconic bird once synonymous with our landscapes, is now facing challenges due to rapid urbanization. Through this sculpture, we aim to evoke a sense of awareness and inspire actions that contribute to the well-being of our avian friends and the planet at large.

The Honey Bee Sculpture at Iffco Chowk

The honey bee sculpture at IFFCO Chowk is an inspiring artistic installation that celebrates the vital role of pollinators in our ecosystem. Crafted with creativity and precision, this sculpture serves as a powerful visual representation of the significance of bees in maintaining biodiversity and supporting food production.

Designed and created through a collaborative effort involving The Hyphen, M3M Foundation, and other stakeholders, the honey bee sculpture stands as a symbol of the delicate balance between human activities and nature. Crafted from industrial and plastic waste, this art piece underscores the need for sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.

The placement of the honey bee sculpture at IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram holds a dual purpose: it beautifies the public space while also conveying an important message about conservation. By showcasing the intricate and industrious world of bees through art, this sculpture prompts viewers to reflect on the impact of their choices on the environment and the interconnectedness of all living beings.

As with other artistic initiatives by The Hyphen, this honey bee sculpture serves as a catalyst for meaningful conversations, encouraging individuals to take action towards safeguarding our planet’s delicate ecosystems. It’s a testament to the power of art to educate, inspire, and foster positive change, aligning with The Hyphen’s mission to use creativity as a tool for addressing socio-environmental issues.
