Sustainable Plus, world’s first and only corporate sustainable label, is CII initiative to provide a brand identity tool to companies to communicate to various stakeholders that they are a sustainable company.

NEW DELHI: CII-ITC founded, Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development (CESD) had declared Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company in Zinc-Lead-Silver-Wind Energy business, as one of the top 10 sustainable companies in India and awarded “Sustainable Plus Platinum Label” to the Company.
Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development (CESD) undertook environment, social and governance analysis study of top 100 companies across 20 sectors in India. Recognizing the exemplary work done by Hindustan Zinc in these areas, the CII-ITC positioned Hindustan Zinc in the bracket of top 10 companies.
The Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Zinc, Sunil Duggal expressed his happiness on receiving “Sustainable Plus Platinum” recognition from CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development (CESD). “This recognition by CII-ITC is another milestone for Hindustan Zinc and reiterates our focus and efforts towards environment, health, safety and governance. We believe that businesses should have overall impact on society”, said Sunil Duggal.
Seema Arora, the Executive Director of CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development said, ‘Vedanta is at the forefront of environment, social and governance practices in India’.
Hindustan Zinc efforts towards water and energy conservation, rural women empowerment, care for the rural deprived children, construction of India first sewage treatment plant under PPP, health initiatives and safety have been widely recognized.
