ANGUL (Odisha): The international Women Day 2012 was celebrated in the premises of the R&R colony of Malibrahmani. On this occasion, a grievance cell was inaugurated by Promod Padhy, Assistant Vice President– Projects along with the 1st SHG group of the colony – Maa Shakti SHG. The grievance cell is inaugurated to address the grievances of the Women in the RR colony. Literacy classes, stitching classes and other activities will be held to Empower the Women.
The other dignitaries present in the program were BD Mohapatra, COO-MPCL, D.Nath & Bandhu Bilhor -GM (Land), BB.Behera, GM – Accounts and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team.
BD Mohapatra, COO – MPCL addressed the women of the colony and nearby villages and sought the cooperation of the women to bring a complete development of the colony to a new orbit and make it an ideal colony. Dr. Nath emphasized on economic empowerment of the women and the importance of education in their life.
Keeping the theme of Women Day 2012 in place – End Hunger & Poverty, Harmeet Sehra, CSR – Head highlighted on Kitchen Garden and reduction of Malnutrition. She said, There is no better way to develop the nation than empowering women.
The program ended in a colouful manner. HOLI was celebrated with enthusiasm among CSR team and Women of the colony and nearby villages.
