To augment the healthcare infrastructure and improve access to medical facilities in Buxwaha, Essel Mining and Industries Limited (EMIL) donated a digital X-Ray machine, Computer Radiographic System (CRS), blood analyzer along with support equipment to Community Health Center (CHC) at Buxwaha, in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. CHC Buxwaha is a pivotal health facility in the region for a population of 1.25 lakh people.

As part of its community focused endeavor, EMIL also donated hematology analyzer, bio-chemistry semi-auto analyzer, blood pressure measurement devices, and mobile operation theater light to support the medical procedure.

Further, to strengthen the local healthcare system and improve the ability of medical staff to manage the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, several other equipment including air conditioners, water cooler, water filters, refrigerator, wheel chairs and furniture were also handed over to the CHC in the presence of eminent dignitaries Mr. Pradyuman Singh Lodhi, MLA, Malhara and Chairman Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supply Corporation holding status of Cabinet Minister; Mr. Rahul Siladia, SDM Bijawar; Dr. Lalit Upadhyaya, Block Medical Officer, Buxwaha and other local administration officers.

Earlier, for blood tests and x-rays, the local residents had to travel for around 60 – 90 kilometers to Chhatarpur, Damoh or Sagar. With new facilities, community from villages around Buxwaha can now get important diagnosis done in their local area thus saving precious time and expenses.

MLA Pradyuman Singh Lodhi referencing Gandhi Jayanti said, “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. This kind gesture of EMIL paves a long path of welfare to come in future for Buxwaha”.

While appreciating the community efforts of the Company and its contribution to the welfare of the villagers, MLA Pradyuman Singh Lodhi also recognized the need for ambulances at the health centre. He requested for the donation of an ambulance to the CHC which could further strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in the village.

SDM Bijawar said, “this was much needed aid in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic”. He thanked EMIL for their kind-hearted gesture.

Along with this, to strengthen the largest vaccination drive against COVID-19 pandemic, EMIL continues to provide logistics support to the local medical administration in the far places.

Essel Mining believes in working towards making a meaningful difference to underprivileged communities where it operates. The company has been awarded LOI for the Bunder Diamond Block, which is a Greenfield mining project located in Buxwaha tehsil of Chhatarpur district in Madhya Pradesh.

This project is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for 1,000 to 1,500 local people, and improve infrastructure of roads, health and education, thus accelerating the pace of socio-economic development in the region.
