Mumbai based Wockhardt Foundation hosted the CSR Shining Star Awards to celebrate the social welfare initiatives undertaken by corporates in various categories like health, education, skill development, water, sanitation, hygiene, environment, animal welfare etc.
The Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari presided as the Chief Guest for the awards ceremony that was held at Raj Bhavan.
The awardees across categories included individuals and corporates like HUL, ITC, GAIL, Vedanta, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Larsen & Toubro and many other socially responsible companies that have demonstrated tremendous resolve in giving back to society.
Ratan Tata and Rajashree Birla were awarded the Lifetime Achievement award for their philanthropic work and consistent support to different social causes over the years.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Huz, CEO & Trustee of Wockhardt Foundation said “I would like to congratulate all the awardees. The contribution each one of them had made is truly and utterly commendable. They have been a source of inspiration for all of us & I hope their efforts will motivate others to step forward and become a ray of hope to all the countrymen.”
The Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari ji lauded the work of all awardees and while emphasizing the importance of helping others especially the underprivileged, he also encouraged them to continue the good work that they were doing.
