Pune – Maharashtra government has awarded a certificate of appreciation to Volkswagen India for its skill development initiatives in the state ITI in Pimpri-Chinchwad, a company release said.
The company has been providing sector-specific skills to improve employbility.
Governor of Maharashtra C. Vidyasagar Rao was was among the guests present during the felicitation ceremony.
“We are privileged to be felicitated by the Government of Maharashtra as one of the active corporate
participants working towards upgrading the governments ITI (industrial Training Institute) in Pune
district,” Gurpratap Boparai, Managing Director, Volkswagen India said.
Volkswagen is committed towards government’s skill development initiative and is continuously taking steps towards making ITI students’ future ready and employable, he added.
Volkswagen is committed towards improving the quality of education and has tied up with various institutes across the country to develop course modules that are in sync with the requirement at the shop floor in the auto industry, the release said.
The Volkswagen Group is represented by five passenger car brands in India viz Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, Å KODA, and Volkswagen. It began its India innings with the launch of SKODA brand in 2001.
