VMware Inc. recently announced that it will be doubling the Wellbeing Allowance for the employees in India and has further simplified the process for availing the benefits, including making weekly reimbursements possible.

Under VMware’s unique 2021 Wellbeing Allowance, all employees across its offices in India will be eligible for a wellbeing allowance of Rs. 59,130 to equip employees to live a more healthy and balanced life. This increase in benefit comes at a time when the country is battling a surge of cases with the second wave of Covid-19.

Earlier this year, VMware had announced that under VMware’s unique wellbeing program, all employees across offices in India will be eligible for a wellbeing allowance of 29,565 INR, which has since been further enhanced to provide better and timely relief to all its workforce in India.

As the industry moved to a remote work model last year, VMware revisited some of its policies to ensure that teams had help and resources to help cope with the rigors of the new normal. A host of other benefits were announced last year that included a pandemic leave policy for its employees, a unique initiative where employees are entitled to 5 days of paid leave, to help employees take some time off during this unusual time.
