MUMBAI (India CSR): In a grand event on February 10th, 2024, at The Grand, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, vivo India unveiled the National Winners of the ‘vivo Ignite: Technology and Innovation Awards’. This initiative, in partnership with NCERT and iHub DivyaSampark, IIT Roorkee, celebrated the innovative spirit of Indian students from grades 8 to 12. With over 19,000 participants and 4,000 projects, the competition was fierce, but the project “Smart Street – Where Innovation Meets Sustainability” emerged victorious, securing a cash prize of INR 7 lakhs. The next four top innovations shared INR 14 lakhs, showcasing solutions ranging from eco-friendly agricultural machinery to advanced cycling posture optimization.
Geetaj Channana, Head of Corporate Strategy at vivo India, and other dignitaries praised the creativity and problem-solving capabilities displayed by the young participants. The winners, including projects like Multi-Functional Eco-Friendly Agro Machine and STEMLY, demonstrated exceptional ingenuity aimed at making positive societal impacts.
The vivo Ignite initiative, now in its successful run, not only offers a platform for showcasing young talent but also aligns with the mission of fostering a culture of scientific innovation and entrepreneurship among Indian students. The top 25 ideas from this competition are currently under evaluation for potential research, incubation, or startup opportunities, highlighting the program’s commitment to nurturing promising innovations for sustainable and socially impactful solutions.
