Leading public sector bank Union Bank of India has contributed rupees 45 lakhs to run various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program benefiting to the society.
“Union Bank of India committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by contributing to the society.”, bank said in its Annual Report 2018-19.
According to the report, Bank has set up the ‘Union Bank Social Foundation Trust (UBSFT)’ in the year 2006 for spearheading CSR activities. During FY 2018-19, Union Bank has contributed Rs. 45.43 lakh as donation to UBSFT for CSR activities.
UBSFT has donated in 10 projects during the year 2018-19 under various sectors like education, health care, community development, sanitation, sanitation, disability sector etc.
UBSFT has supported National Association for the Blind, Mumbai for conducting short term Rehabilitation courses for visually challenged teenagers in Mumbai.
It has supported for construction of toilet in Govt. Middle School Baligarh. It has also supported Namami Ganga Yojana for installation of Touch Screen in front of their office at Lucknow.
UBSFT has supported Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Samiti Amritsar for purchasing ambulance for providing emergency medical care to the needy people.
It has distributed blankets in the cold affected area of North Bihar Sanitation, supported for construction of toilet in Govt. Middle School Baligarh and financial support to Namami GangaYojana for Lucknow.
