NEW DELHI (India CSR): The UN Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI) has announced its newly elected Governing Council for the 2025–2027 term. The diverse group of leaders elected to the council demonstrates strong commitment to advancing the UN Global Compact’s Ten Principles and supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through collective and responsible business actions.
Vaishali Nigam Sinha Takes the Helm as President
Vaishali Nigam Sinha, Co-Founder of ReNew and Chairperson – Sustainability at ReNew Pvt. Ltd., has been elected as President. She brings extensive experience in sustainability initiatives and renewable energy, expected to provide strong leadership to the network.
Vice Presidents Representing Regional Diversity
Four Vice Presidents have been elected representing various regions:
- Northern Region: Rishi K Chawla, Vice President – Corporate Affairs, Carlsberg India P Limited
- Eastern Region: Adhip Pal Chaudhuri, Chairman & Managing Director, Balmer Lawrie & Co. Ltd.
- Western Region: Sanjeev Verma, Head – Environment, Health & Safety, GRASIM INDUSTRIES LIMITED (Aditya Birla Group)
- Southern Region: Thakur S Pherwani, Chief Sustainability Officer, TVS Motor Company
Secretarial Positions Filled by Seasoned Leaders
Ganesh Reddy, Founder & CEO of Citizens Foundation, will serve as Secretary, while Abhishek Ranjan, Senior Director & Global Head – ESG, Managing Trustee – Brillio Foundation at Brillio, has been elected as Joint Secretary.
Financial Stewardship Entrusted to Dr. Nitin Dumasia
Dr. Nitin Dumasia, President & CEO of Growlity, Inc., will handle financial oversight as Treasurer, ensuring robust governance and transparent financial practices.
