New Delhi – UltraTech Cement Ltd touched the lives of more than 14 lakh people across 502 villages in India during FY 2018-19 under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
More than 50 villages were selected to be transformed into model equivalents.
The average net profit of the company for last three financial years is Rs 3059 crore and the company spent over Rs 74 crore in FY 2018-19 against the prescribed CSR Expenditure (two percent of the net profit) of Rs 61.18 crores.
CSR Committee of the company is chaired by Rajashree Birla. The other Members of the Committee are G. M. Dave as Independent Director, O. P. Puranmalka as Non-Executive Director, K. K. Maheshwari as Managing Director and Pragnya Ram as Group Executive President.
With an aim to build a better, sustainable way of life for weaker sections of society, to contribute effectively towards inclusive growth and raise the country’s human development index, the projects of the company focusses on – education, healthcare, sustainable livelihood, infrastructure development and social reform, epitomizing a holistic approach to inclusive growth.
