Bhubaneswar: Union Minister, Tribal Affairs Mr. Jual Oram, on a visit to his constituency, joined the Annual Recognition Day Function at JSPL’s TRB Mines, Tensa, on November 30, 2014 as Chief Guest. Hon’ble Union Minister unveiled a unique Incentive Scheme for contract workers, and gave away awards to over 100 distinguished workers who have excelled in their performance.
Mr Manish Kharbanda, Executive Director, Mines & Minerals JSPL presided over the function. Drawing inspiration from the pro-worker philosophy of JSPL Hon’ble Chairman Sri Naveen Jindal, he announced several beneficial schemes for contract workers on this occasion.
Mr. Prabhakar Mallick , General Secretary , Banei Mazdoor Sangh, recognised union of TRB mines outlined the policy of the Union to always act with a cooperative mind keeping the interest of nation, management and workers at par and praised the approach of Management in proactively looking after welfare of employees.
Chief Guest, Mr. Jual Oram praised the management for launching the incentive scheme that will enhance the earning of contract workers, scholarships for children of contract workers, opening of Jandhan bank accounts for every contract worker with initial company contribution of RS.500/- by the Company which will give life insurance coverage for the contract workers and many other benefits.
Mr. Oram in his inspiring address exhorted the workers to be more productive and contribute to the nation building. Recounting his early association with TRB Mines as a trade unionist, he recounted the cooperative path for mutual prosperity which the Founder of JSPL Sri OP Jindal and Mr Oram had set together in 1990s and said that it is always in the interest of the workers and the Company to work hand-in-hand and resolve all issues through dialogue and understanding instead of resorting to confrontation and strike at the instigation of some vested interest.
He warned the detractors with vested interest to keep away from disturbing the peace and productive atmosphere of TRB Mines and firmly stated his emotional commitment not to allow the detractors to close down the successful mines for selfish motif.
