Bengaluru – On Doctors’ day (1 Jul), BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital teamed-up with Make a Wish Foundation to grant a wish of a 10-year-old girl who desires to become a doctor, the hospital said in a press release. The hospital is owned by Singapore-based Parkway Pantai Enterprise.
Make-A-Wish Foundation is a globally recognised non-profit organisation that grants wishes of children who are diagnosed with critical or rare illnesses.
On National Doctor’s Day, staff across the Gleneagles Global Hospitals network rallied together to fulfill the dreams of young kids who aspired of being doctors.
Madhushree, who was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness when she was just 8 months old has been visiting the hospital for the past 10 years. She visits hospital every 20 days to manage her condition.
“We were introduced to Madhushree, who has been put through unfortunate circumstances all her life. You would expect her to despise hospitals and having to meet more doctors. Instead she nurtures a dream to become a doctor so that she too can be of service to people in need. We couldn’t have hoped for a more meaningful interaction on this day, “Shailaja Suresh, chief executive officer (CEO) at the Gleneagles said.
National Doctors Day is celebrated every year on 1Jul to recognize the contributions of doctors to individuals and to the society.
Gleneagles has two facilities in Bengaluru.
