NEW DELHI (India CSR): TELUS Digital, a leader in AI-powered customer experience and business process solutions, has launched its India Community Board, marking a significant expansion of its global “We Give Where We Live” philosophy. This launch builds on TELUS Digital’s global giving legacy, which has already touched more than 1.2 million lives across Bulgaria, the Philippines, El Salvador, Romania, and Guatemala.

Transforming communities through strategic partnerships

The board’s initial USD 200,000 investment will support 11 local NGO projects, benefiting over 2,100 individuals in underserved communities. The initiative focuses on creating grassroots impact across three key pillars: health, education, and environmental sustainability. The 11 projects include:

1. NGO: Bright Future

Program: Bulandi

Over 160 youth from underserved communities in Ahmedabad will be provided with a 3-month comprehensive training and skill development for employment in banking and finance, ITES, customer relations, workplace readiness, placement support and soft skills training.

2. NGO: CATCH Foundation

Program: Miyawaki Dense Forest

Planting 1,000 native trees using the Miyawaki method to create a dense, fast-growing forest ecosystem. This approach yields forests that grow 10 times faster and are 30 times denser than conventional plantations.

3. NGO: Challengers Group Trust

Program: Challengers Ki Pathshala

Offering free education and midday meals to 150 underprivileged children via learning centers. The children will be provided with academic instruction, including basic literacy and numeracy skills, educational activities and learning opportunities that will help them integrate smoothly into mainstream schools.

4. NGO: Etasha Society

Program: AtmaNirbhar

Training 220 youth from low-income communities by providing industry-relevant skills training on computerised accounts, taxation and tally program for 2 months, with an 80% job placement target.

5. NGO: Give Me Trees Trust

Eco TELUS Days of Giving

Planting 1,000 endemic trees, increasing green cover area and local biodiversity within Noida.

6. NGO: India HIV / AIDS Alliance

Program: Baal Poshan

Providing critical nutrition support to 135 children living with HIV. Nutritional supplements will be distributed monthly, and children’s growth and health status will be continuously monitored.

7. iVolunteer

Program: TELUS Days of Giving School renovation

Renovating a school that supports underprivileged students in Noida to help address resource gaps and create safe and inspiring learning spaces for students and teachers alike.

8. NGO: Jivika Foundation

Program: Cervical Cancer Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Providing HPV vaccination (2 doses) to 210 young girls from underserved communities, together with cervical cancer education.

9. NGO: Niswarth Seva Sankalp Trust

Program: Project Shiksha

Providing comprehensive assistance to 60 specially abled underprivileged children. They will be helped through a learning program focused on basic literacy, subject-based knowledge, and workshops on personality development, mental health, and financial literacy.

10. NGO: Setu

Program: Project Saksham

Providing IT skills training to 100 women from underserved communities to upskill them, leading to employment and helping them achieve self-reliance.

11. NGO: Social and Development Research & Action Group

Program: Sarthak: Environmental Sustainability & Livelihood for Migrant Women

Teaching sustainable livelihoods to 120 migrant women by repurposing recycled materials into marketable goods.

“The TELUS Digital India Community Board represents our deep-rooted commitment to building stronger, healthier communities,” shares Rajiv M.Dhand, Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific and Africa at TELUS Digital. “Through strategic partnerships with NGOs, community-led initiatives, and our volunteering efforts, we’ve positively impacted over 25,000 lives in India and contributed more than INR 86 million ($1 million) in grants to local communities in the past 6 years. This is more than philanthropy – it’s about creating sustainable change and empowering communities to thrive. As we continue this journey, we’re focused on expanding our impact and transforming even more lives through meaningful, long-term partnerships.”

TELUS Digital India’s commitment extends beyond financial support through year-round volunteering initiatives including TELUS Days of Giving, school renovations, and environmental conservation efforts. The company’s education initiatives particularly focus on digital transformation, combining traditional education support with modern solutions – from digital classrooms and teacher training to youth digital literacy programs and job placement assistance in underserved areas.
