MOHALI: Tech Mahindra Foundation, the CSR arm of Tech Mahindra Ltd. has inaugurated the second branch of the Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare in Mohali on Monday, the 27th of November 2017.
Vineet Nayyar, Vice Chairman of Tech Mahindra Ltd. and Arun Nanda, Chairman of Club Mahindra were the Chief Guests for the occasion.
Also present were Dr. Loveleen Kacker, CEO, Tech Mahindra Foundation, Rajyalakshmi Rao, Director, Tech Mahindra Ltd. Leading members from the medical fraternity also attended the event.
The Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare is a paramedical skilling institute, that runs diploma and certificate courses to train Operation Theatre Technicians, Dialysis Technicians, X-ray Technicians, Medical Lab Technicians, Emergency Medical Technicians, Hospital Front Office & Billing Executives, General Duty Assistants and more. The first Academy was launched in New Delhi, in May 2016 in partnership with the Harijan Sevak Sangh.
Dr. Loveleen Kacker, CEO of Tech Mahindra Foundation, said, “This is a project which is very close to my heart. What better way can there be to give back to my home state than to support employment for its youth? I am proud of the way the Academy has taken shape, and I hope to see many young men and women start off on a successful career in healthcare.”

Dr. Loveleen Kacker, CEO of Tech Mahindra Foundation, says, “The placement rate for our latest batch to graduate in New Delhi is almost 90%. Doctors appreciate our students because of their sound theoretical knowledge and their on job training experience. The medical sector is booming in India and there is a huge need for skilled paramedical professionals.
