WEST BOKARO: A potable water project was dedicated today by Sanjay Kumar Singh, General Manager (West Bokaro), Tata Steel to the students of Adarsh High School, Badgaon under Mandu block of Ramgarh district. The inauguration was done in the presence of Mohan Mahato, President, RCMS along with Madhesh Kumar, Head, Logistics, and Someswar Mahto, Principal, Adarsh High School.
The initiative was implemented by Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), the rural development wing of Tata Steel with an objective to make potable water available to the students. Under the project, the company has installed 2 overhead water tanks of 1000 litre capacity each connected to a platform along with taps. Apart from this, TSRDS has supported the school with a deep borewell which will cater to the water requirement of the school throughout the year. The project will provide potable water to more than 500 students of the school. Earlier, these students were dependent upon a tube well for the drinking water requirement which used to dry up during summer days.
Reaffirming Tata Steel’s commitment towards the upliftment of the community in and around its areas of operation, Sanjay Kumar Singh said, “Tata Steel is committed towards development of the region and has always given priority to improving the quality of life of the community. I am sure this drinking water project will benefit the school and will go a long way in providing a conducive environment for learning and growth.”
As part of this initiative, 5 more schools will be provided with such drinking water project in the near future.
