GOPALPUR: In an effort to create more entrepreneurs who, along with generating sustainable income for themselves will create employment around Gopalpur, industry major Tata Steel has successfully conducted entrepreneurship development training of 107 persons from Brajanagar, Jyotinagar, Sindhunagar and TATA rehabilitation colony, under Chhatrapur block of Ganjam district.
The training was organized in association with Ahmedabad based leading training institute ‘International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (ICECD)’. The training was followed by a 5 days’ exposure visit to ICECD, Ahmedabad.
The Graduation Ceremony for distribution of certificates to the trainees was held on Friday in the auditorium of Nettur Technical Training Foundation, Mandiapalli. R K Singh, Head, R & R, Tata Steel, Gopalpur Project and L Keshab Patra, Sarpanch, Luhajhar panchayat graced the occasion as Chief Guests.
Briefing about the initiative, Vijay Bhuptani, Senior Faculty, ICECD informed that after identification of a suitable trade, the beneficiaries were facilitated for loans from various banks post which as many as 55 persons out of the total 107 trained have started their own enterprises.
Delivering the theme address in the ceremony Singh, Head, R & R, Tata Steel, Gopalpur Project congratulated the trainees for successful completion of the training and urged them to implement the knowledge gained on various alternate livelihood options, bank linkages and convergence opportunities here for starting their own enterprises.
Complementing Tata Steel for the initiative Patra advised the trainees to make best use of the training imparted. Sailesh Kumar, Sr. Manager, R & R, Gopalpur Project proposed a vote of thanks.
Among others present on the occasion were Vijay Bhuptani, Senior Faculty, ICECD; Sanjib Sahu, Manager, R & R, Tata Steel;Anant Singh, Specialist (Agriculture Engineer), TSRDS; trainees and local community leaders.
