Epsilon Group’s remarkable achievements in sustainability, such as the Zero Liquid Discharge facility and the 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, highlight the importance of innovative practices in driving business success and environmental stewardship.

MUMBAI (India CSR): On World Environment Day, Vikram Handa, Managing Director of Epsilon Group, highlighted the company’s significant achievements in sustainability. These accomplishments underscore Epsilon’s commitment to environmental stewardship and set a benchmark for the industry.

Revolutionary Zero Liquid Discharge Facility

Epsilon Group’s Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) facility is a standout achievement in their sustainability journey. This innovative system saves an impressive 24 million liters of water annually. By ensuring that no liquid waste is discharged into the environment, the ZLD facility significantly reduces water pollution and conserves valuable water resources.

Massive Reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Another major milestone for Epsilon is the 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emission intensity. This achievement is made possible by utilizing waste gases to power their 17MW captive power plant. By converting waste gases into energy, Epsilon not only reduces emissions but also optimizes resource use, showcasing a practical approach to sustainability.

Lifecycle Analysis: Key to Sustainability

Epsilon’s success can be attributed to the early adoption of lifecycle analysis in product development. This approach helps identify carbon footprints and leakages, leading to more compliant and efficient facility designs. It also enables Epsilon to focus on Scope 3 emissions with suppliers, ensuring comprehensive environmental responsibility.

Economic Benefits of Sustainable Practices

Handa emphasized that sustainable practices do not necessarily increase costs. In fact, initial capital investments in sustainability pay off in the long run by enhancing product positioning and efficiency. Clients across industries, including aluminum, tire, and electric vehicles, actively seek low-carbon solutions, aligning with Epsilon’s sustainable objectives.

Innovative Practices for a Greener Future

On World Environment Day, Mr. Handa reaffirmed Epsilon Group’s dedication to a greener future through relentless innovation and sustainable practices. “We are committed to leading by example and driving the industry towards a more sustainable path,” he stated.
