The company has ensured no funds were left unspent on CSR activities during the year under review.

Surya Foundation: CSR Arm of Surya Roshni Limited
The Surya Foundation, the dedicated CSR arm of the company, discharges responsibilities in key areas such as health, skill development, and education. The foundation’s initiatives include personality development camps, tree plantation in rural areas, sports tournaments, selai kendra, swatchta abhiyan, blood donation camps, national youth day celebrations, go-utpaad training camps, dakshta varg, madhu makhi training camps, and diary training camps, among others.
Promoting Social Development as a Corporate Citizen

The company’s CSR endeavours focus on societal well-being and ecological responsibilities, discharged through the Surya Foundation. During the year under review, Surya Roshni Limited, on a consolidated basis, spent Rs. 3.53 crore on corporate social activities. This expenditure is not less than 2% of the average net profits of the company made during the three immediately preceding financial years, thereby complying with the mandated CSR spending requirements.

The key objectives include eradicating hunger, poverty, and malnutrition; promoting healthcare and education; enhancing vocational skills; women empowerment; promoting homes and hostels for women and orphans; reducing inequality faced by socially and economically backward groups; animal welfare; promoting Art & Culture; contributing to the Prime Minister Relief Fund; rural development projects; and addressing environmental issues.

The company has discharged its responsibilities through the Surya Foundation, a public trust registered under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) with Registration Number CSR00002663. Established in 1992, the trust has an impressive track record of over 30 years in undertaking CSR-related activities. It is an eligible implementing agency as per the provisions of section 135 of the Act read with the Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility Policy) Rules, 2014.
