MUMBAI: SHIKHAR, a National level registered voluntary organisation, is organizing 2nd National CSR Summit-2014 “CSR and Sustainability: A Value Proposition for Business” in association with The United Nations Global Compact Network– India, on Tuesday, 11 February, 2014,at The Grand Salon, Hotel Sofitel, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, between 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs is the Summit Partner.
Various eminent panelists at the three technical sessions will discuss various opportunities, challenges and issues involved in leveraging Corporate Social Responsibility for taking the benefits of growth to the masses. The importance of CSR in addressing the challenges of the society has been acknowledged by the Government in the New Companies Bill, recently passed by Parliament of India. The Bill makes it mandatory for corporates to invest 2% of PAT in CSR activities. In view of this, the summit would deliberate upon the changing dynamics of CSR. The summit will be inaugurated by Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, Director General & CEO, of IICA, Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Renowned Cricketer Mr. Virendra Sehwag.
