KALAHANDI: Sesa Sterlite Limited under it’s PR activity has partnered with District Youth & Sports department, Kalahandi for the two days district level rural sports Competition 2014-15 which has been started under RGKA in the guidance of District administration, Kalahandi at Lal Bahadur Stadium.
On the Opening ceremony of the competition, Srimati Majhi, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Kalahandi attended as Chief Guest and inaugurated the program in the presence of other dignitaries like Sukanta Tripathy-Sub Collector (Bhawanipatna), Jalaj Malpani (CFO-Sesa Sterlite Limited, Lanjigarh), Subhasis Nayak-District Sports officer-Kalahandi.
Srimati Majhi tells about the importance of sportsman and informs them to focus more on sports to keep the name of this region. She praised Sesa Sterlite to come forward for this occasion.
Similarly Sub Collector, Sukant Tripathy says that district Administration is so much interested to bring various sports men from the soil and always stands with the youths. This is an initiative; all of us should come forward to help these boys and girls with Sports instruments, Kits and others. He thanked Sesa Sterlite to be associated in this eve.

He said, “We, as a responsible Company has always been trying to support towards the development of sports and culture of the region as a result so many sports man came to the lime light.”
Around 750 boys/girls from each corner of district (14 blocks) attended who have been successfully qualified in the block level competitions. In the opening ceremony Maheswar Suna of DAV Vedanta International School; Lanjigarh has become 1st in the 400 mtr running. All the guest have encouraged the future sports man of the district and advised them to keep the name of Kalahandi in state as well as Nation.
In this regards sesa Sterlite has been doing various sports activities such as Cricket, Football, Volleyball, mountaineering, Karate Competitions, Weight lifting, athletic meet and participating in the district level cultural function as well. Later tracksuits will be provided to the state level qualified boys and girls.
