BANGALURU : SAP Labs India has launched its ‘Swachh Bharat Campaign’ in alignment with the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ The national cleanliness drive being propagated by the Government of India. The campaign was launched by SAP employee volunteers at the HOPE Foundation School in R T Nagar, Bangalore with a cleanliness drive which included providing dustbins, painting of classrooms and creating sanitation infrastructure and educating children about the importance of sanitation.
SAP’s Swachh Bharat campaign has two main components-CSR investment and employee engagement through volunteering. As a part of this initiative, SAP will provide sanitation facilities by building 100 toilets for women in 2015, and distributing dustbins in schools and congested areas. Designed to inculcate the importance of cleanliness, and address the issue of the lack of sanitation infrastructure, SAP employee volunteers will also engage with communities and students to build awareness on the importance of a ‘Swachh Bharat.’
“We are proud to launch the ‘Swachh Bharat Campaign’ to the Government’s vision of a clean India. Our employee volunteers are very excited to be the change agents and contribute towards the clean India mission” said Dilipkumar Khandelwal, Managing Director, SAP Labs India. The campaign will be rolled out in different locations across the country including Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune and NCR besides Kutch, Uttarakhand; Tharangambadi, Tamil Nadu and Jammu where SAP CSR in collaboration with HOPE Foundation is running schools and vocational training centers set up in the aftermath of natural disasters which had significantly impacted these local communities.
