NEW DELHI (India CSR): Rishi Pathania has been appointed as Vice President and Head – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Jindal Steel Ltd, a development he confirmed in a LinkedIn post.
The appointment underscores his extensive leadership experience in corporate social responsibility, sustainability strategy and stakeholder engagement across global markets.
In his new role, Pathania will lead the company’s CSR strategy, implementation and community engagement initiatives. He will be responsible for aligning Jindal Steel’s social impact programmes with its broader environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability goals.
Prior to this, he served as Global Head (Vice President) – CSR at UPL, where he led global CSR programmes across India, Latin America and Africa. He also spearheaded sustainability and social impact initiatives and strengthened multi-stakeholder collaborations across regions.
Earlier, Pathania held leadership roles at Tata Chemicals Ltd and the Society for Development of Appropriate Technology (SOTEC), where he drove community development programmes, strengthened CSR governance frameworks and led strategic social initiatives.
His appointment is expected to bolster Jindal Steel’s ongoing efforts towards responsible business practices and community-centric development.
He was honoured with the CSR Person of the Year Award 2018 by India CSR in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contribution to the field of corporate social responsibility.
