NEW DELHI (India CSR): ReNew Energy Global Plc, one of India’s largest and most influential decarbonisation and clean-energy companies, has announced a massive expansion of its green energy footprint in Andhra Pradesh. With fresh investments of around Rs. 60,000 crore (US$ 6.7 billion) through new MoUs, the company’s total commitment to the state has now surged to nearly Rs. 82,000 crore (US$ 9.3 billion), strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s status as a rapidly emerging clean-energy hub.
The new commitments come just months after ReNew pledged Rs. 22,000 crore (US$ 2.5 billion) in May 2025 for building one of India’s largest hybrid renewable energy parks in the Anantapur district.
ReNew Signs Four Strategic MoUs with Andhra Pradesh Government
In Visakhapatnam, ReNew signed four major MoUs with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board in the presence of:
- Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh
- Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Real Time Governance and HRD
The MoUs outline ReNew’s plan to build a diversified and integrated clean-energy ecosystem in the state, including:
Key Projects Announced
- 6 GW PV ingot-wafer manufacturing plant
- 2 GW pumped hydro storage project
- 300 KTPA green ammonia facility
- 5 GW hybrid renewable projects (wind–solar and solar-BESS)
This investment will significantly boost India’s renewable energy manufacturing capacity and strengthen domestic clean-energy value chains.
Government Applauds ReNew’s Long-Term Commitment
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu lauded ReNew’s expanding partnership with the state:
“Andhra Pradesh is committed to emerging as a national leader in renewable energy, and partners like ReNew play a crucial role in advancing this vision… This collaboration will accelerate clean energy deployment, attract high-quality jobs, and contribute meaningfully to sustainable and inclusive growth for the people of the state.”
ReNew’s CEO: Building India’s Integrated Clean Energy Value Chain
Sumant Sinha, Founder, Chairman & CEO of ReNew, said:

He also appreciated the state government’s policy clarity, infrastructure readiness, and pro-industry approach, reinforcing Andhra Pradesh as a natural partner in India’s energy transition.
ReNew’s Growing Footprint in Andhra Pradesh
ReNew’s earlier Rs. 22,000 crore investment is already enabling the development of a 2.8 GW hybrid renewable project, comprising:
- 1.8 GWp solar capacity
- 1 GW wind capacity
- 2 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
This is set to become one of India’s largest single-location renewable projects.
The company currently operates:
- 717 MW of commissioned wind power
- 60 MW of solar assets
across 10 sites in Andhra Pradesh.
Massive Job Creation & Support for State Targets
With the latest investment plan, ReNew aims to create 10,000 direct and indirect jobs in the state.
The company will support Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious 2030+ clean energy targets:
- 78.5 GW solar capacity
- 35 GW wind capacity
- 25 GWh energy storage capacity
This makes Andhra Pradesh one of India’s most aggressive and future-oriented states in renewable energy growth.
