  • The state-of-the-art van will nurture the malnourished women and children of this region in association with Shri Sadguru Vishwanath Maharaj Rukdikar Trust
  • This is in extension of its Arogya Yan programme, under which 15 fully equipped medical vans have been donated so far covering more than 600 villages across 10 states, touching the lives of more than 11 lakh people

Pune: Quick Heal, through its CSR arm, donated Modamrut Yan, a state-of-the-art van, to the underprivileged communities of Kolhapur, Maharashtra. The first-of-its-kind van, in association with Shri Sadguru Vishwanath Maharaj Rukdikar Trust will bring nutrition and overall good health closer to the at-risk population. With ‘Healthy Mother, Healthy Child’ as its motto, the Modamrut Poshan Ahar campaign by the trust, works toward the welfare of malnourished women and children.

The handing over ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. Kailash Katkar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Quick Heal Technologies Ltd., Anupama Katkar, Chairperson, Quick Heal Foundation and Anandanath Sangavadekar, President of Shri Sadguru Vishwanath Maharaj Rukdikar Trust.

Quick Heal CSR initiative’s Modamrut Yan is in extension of its Arogya Yan programme, under which it donates fully equipped medical vans to bring the gift of good health to the marginalized communities residing in the remote corners of the country. Through its donation of 15 Arogya Yans so far, it has covered more than 600 villages across 10 states, touching the lives of more than 11 lakh people.

Speaking on the occasion, Anupama Katkar, Chairperson, Quick Heal Foundation, said, “Young children shape the future of the country. Hence it is imperative to lay greater importance upon the nutrition and health of not just the children, but also the mothers who nurture them. ‘Securing Futures’ has been a core objective of our CSR initiatives, and through committing a Modamrut van to the wellbeing of under-privileged women and children, we are extremely happy to take another step in the direction of fulfilling our objective.”

Also present on the occasion, Mr. Anandanath Sangavadekar, President of Shri Sadguru Vishwanath Maharaj Rukdikar Trust, said, “We had launched the Modamrut Poshan Ahar campaign with an aim to provide nutritious food, medicine and other necessary supplements to all mothers and children, especially those residing in the remote corners of Kolhapur district. We are extremely grateful to Quick Heal Foundation for extending support in our quest. With the help of Modamrut van, we will now be able to reach out to a larger number of beneficiaries.”

Women and children in low-income households of Kolhapur district often suffer from malnutrition. This stems from an extreme lack of awareness regarding the importance of adequate nutrition and medical facilities aimed specifically to improve maternal, neonatal, and paediatric health. Deep-rooted gender bias amongst the underprivileged communities of the region aggravate the problem further. The Modamrut Yan van will work towards breaking the barriers that impede the health of women and children in Kolhapur, through awareness drives, health camps, and more.
