New Delhi: Piramal Group Chairman Ajay Piramal met with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma last week to discuss the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives undertaken by the Piramal Foundation in the state.
Through the official Twitter handles of both parties, it was announced that the meeting focused on opportunities to build on the work already done by the Piramal Foundation in Assam, specifically in the areas of healthcare and education.
The Piramal Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Piramal Group, has a number of CSR initiatives in the state, including the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam government in 2019 to improve education in five aspirational districts, the implementation of the School Health and Wellness Programme in Dhubri, and the Door to Door Mobile Telemedicine Consultation initiative during the Covid-19 pandemic.
