Rusen Kumar, Managing Editor, India CSR Network interviewed Dr. Mili Shah, President, Ozone Forum of India and Trustee, Bisleri Charitable Trust to discuss Ozone Therapy used for treatment, prevention and control of diseases. Excerpts:
How and why is Ozone Therapy used for treatment, prevention and control of other many diseases?
Ozone therapy is an alternative treatment that involves administering Ozone and oxygen mixture into the body. Ozone (O3) is an energetic molecule in its natural form; however, when it breaks down into an Oxygen molecule (O2) and a single Oxygen atom, it releases a lot of energy. This oxygen molecule purifies the blood, lymph, and other body tissues by quickly combining with them. This therapy is used to treat a number of medical conditions and helps in stimulating the immune system.
It is a well-known fact that most chronic diseases originate with inflammation and oxidative stress. Ozone therapy aids in promoting a preconditioning effect or adaptability to oxidative stress as it stimulates the antioxidant enzymes. Since lower life forms like parasites, viruses, fungi, and bacteria lack antioxidant enzymes, they fail to survive in the presence of Ozone, and this makes Ozone treatment effective on multiple diseases.
What makes Bisleri’s Ozone Therapy one of the ideal treatments to recover faster from Covid-19?
When it comes to Covid-19, Ozone therapy has been effective in its treatment, control and prevention. It has multifaceted properties such as antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and potential to improve oxygenation. Ozone improves lung and peripheral tissue oxygenation and exchange of gases; it can also be given to patients of post-Covid to help them during the recovery phase. Ozone therapy can be provided as supportive therapy to treat residual symptoms of Covid-19 such as breathlessness, weakness, and myalgia. Use of Ozone therapy is very well researched in India by Ozone forum of India.
The varied uses and benefits of this therapy?
In addition to being safe, effective, Ozone therapy is also an economical treatment and can be used as a complementary medicine or a therapeutic method. It is used to treat various diseases that include infected wounds, circulatory disorders, geriatric conditions, macular degeneration, viral infections, and intestinal conditions. Ozone treatment can also be given to patients with rheumatism and cancer which can result in permanent restoration and immune activation, respectively.
How many people, employees, etc. have benefitted from Bisleri’s Ozone Therapy?
Bisleri Charitable Trust has been promoting Ozone Therapy and Ozone Forum of India since 2002 and has an outreach of 1,50,000 people across the country. The Ozone Forum of India has organized over 83 training programs and trained more than 2000 Doctors pan India. We have also associated with Shewri Government Hospital for Tuberculosis, LG Hospital in Ahmedabad and Sion Hospital in Mumbai for diabetic foot treatments. We also work with Neurogen brain and spine center at Vashi and Lokmanya hospital at Pune in covid 19 research. Ozone therapy has been working as integrated naturopathy and is a natural healing modality. Ozone Therapy was also given as a prophylactic to improve immunity for employees of Bisleri India who were engaged in public activities during the lockdown. Our aim is to essentially reach masses who will benefit from this therapy at low costs, and also improve the general health and immunity of those who opt for this therapy which has almost zero side-effects, if at all.
