BHUBANESWAR: OdishaLIVE in association with KIIT School of Rural Management, KIIT University, organized Odisha CSR Summit on 12 April, 2016 at KIIT Campus, Bhubaneswar. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is titled to aid an organization’s mission as well as a guide to what the company stands for its consumers. CSR is a company’s sense of responsibility towards the community and environment (both ecological and social) in which it operates.

Many leading industrial houses, social organizations and individuals are putting various efforts and doing innovations in the domain. To bring the key stake holders together and discuss on the agenda, OdishaLIVE arranged ‘Odisha CSR Summit’.
The summit was inaugurated by Minister of Industries, School and Mass Education, Debi Prasad Mishra. Similarly several veteran business leaders, CSR heads, domain experts and academicians participated in the panel discussion on ‘CSR and Inclusive Growth’ to churn out on the subject.
The Chief Guest, Debi Prasad Mishra and Guest of Honour, Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patasani unveiled the special logo of OdishaLIVE developed to celebrate the mile stone – 1 Crore Plus Views in its YouTube Channel.
The Inaugural Session was presided over by Debi Prasad Mishra, as the Chief Guest; Dr. Prasanna Kumar Patsani, MP, Lok Sabha, as the Guest of Honour; Nilambar Rath, Editor, OdishaLIVE; Dr. L K Vaswani, Director, KIIT School of Rural management (KSRM); Sandeep Behera, Head – Sales and Branding, OdishaLIVE.
Debi Prasad Mishra said that “CSR is a part of our culture; it is not a new thing. Corporatists are working as trusty of society. People should become aware about CSR laws and take benefit of this and mobilize it towards social development”.
Nilambar Rath, Founder and Editor OdishaLIVE, told that “In the modern world where a harmony between development and the society is crucial, CSR plays an important role”.
Best CSR Practices Awards was another attraction of the event. Different business organizations and CSR initiators were felicitated at the event for their innovations and extra ordinary contributions to the field.
The different awardees and awards categories include National Aluminium Company Limited – NALCO for Outstanding CSR Practices in Community Development award; Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) for Outstanding CSR Practices in Steel and Power sector; Essar Foundation, Odisha for Outstanding CSR Practices in Tribal Health and Community Welfare; Sri Sri Borda Hospital (SSB), Bhubaneswar for Outstanding CSR Practices in Community Health Care; SAI International School, Bhubaneswar for Innovative CSR Practies in Education; and The Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCI) got Special Award as a CSR Catalyst for the Industry.
Along with Minister of Industries, dignitaries like Dr. Prasanna Kumar Pattasani, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha; Priyadarshi Mishra, MLA; and Ananta Narayan Jena, Mayor, BMC graced the event.
A Panel Discussion was followed by the Inaugural Session, on ‘CSR & Inclusive Growth’. The panelists including Charudutta Panigrahi, Founder of FIDR, Gurgaon; Dr. Suvendu Das, President, HR, OSL Group; Prof. L. K. Vaswani, Director, KSRM, KIIT University; Jagadananda, Mentor and Co-founder, CYSD and Prasant Kumar Hota, Group CSR Head & Executive Vice President, Corporate Communications, JSPL discussed different aspects of CSR and role of CSR in inclusive growth. Pranati Parida, Managing Director, AMLPL, offered the vote of thanks.
The Closing Session included the felicitation of the Start Ups – the Future Business Leaders by dignitaries and presentation of mementos to the dignitaries by Nilambar Rath.
Many corporate leaders and representatives from various corporate houses, Governmental Officials, NGOs and start-ups and students of technical, management and social domains also witnessed this event.
