JODA: In order to improve the basic healthcare services in the community, Tata Steel organized a Mega Health Camp at Guruda Primary school, Guruda village near Khondbond Iron Mine on September 21,2016.
Specialized doctors from Tata Steel hospital treated more than 400 patients from Guruda, Khondbond, Palsa, Tatpani, Thakurani, Ganua and Benuapani villages. Clinical diagnosis like malaria, hemoglobin, pregnancy, blood sugar as well as cataract screening was conducted in the camp.
The health camp was inaugurated by Krishna Naik, Panchayat Samiti member, Balada along with Mukesh Ranjan, Chief, Joda, Tata Steel, Rajeev Kumar, Head Khondbond Iron Mine, S P Swain, President, Khondbond Iron Mine Worker Union and Dr A K Roy, CMO, Tata Steel Hospital, Joda.
Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), the CSR wing of Tata Steel is reaching out to far flung villages in Joda block and nearby areas through various social welfare projects. This type of health camp has been a regular feature of Tata Steel in its operational areas.
The local community from Guruda and nearby villages appreciated Tata Steel`s effort in organising the health camp to help them avail the services at their doorstep.
