Lives of Farmers Transformed in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh Impact Study reveals Remarkable Change

Mayank Gandhi

Mayank Gandhi, a preeminent figure in the development sector, has significantly impacted rural India through his not-for-profit organization, Global Vikas Trust. He has planted over 3.7 crore fruit trees in the past three and a half years through this initiative, enhancing the environment and providing benefits to thousands of farmers in some of India’s poorest regions.

Starting as an international urban planner, Gandhi later emerged as a key leader in the India Against Corruption movement and the Aam Aadmi Party. Since 2015, he has devoted himself to nation-building, with a specific focus on 106 high-risk villages in Marathwada, Maharashtra.

His innovative model, brought to life through Global Parli, a movement under Global Vikas Trust, covers comprehensive village development and water harvesting. It has a specific goal of amplifying farmer incomes by over 20 times, from Rs. 10k-20k per acre to over Rs. 2,00,000 per acre, fueling rural economies and benefiting thousands of farmer families.

Gandhi’s most recent venture, Global Kachchh – a Jal Andolan, combats water scarcity in Gujarat’s Kachchh district, underlining his commitment to resolving rural India’s most pressing challenges.
