Gujarati cinema is set to welcome a film that doesn’t merely unfold on screen, but quietly settles into the hearts of its audience. “Malumadi”, presented by Sidhhant Motion Pictures and produced by VikramPatolia and KiranKhokhani, is scheduled to release in theatres on 30th January 2026.
This is not the story of a fictional heroine.
This is the story of every Gujarati household’s mother.
Lovingly referred to as “Gujarat’s Mother India”, Malumadi reflects the selfless love, quiet resilience, and unseen sacrifices of Gujarati mothers, a form of motherhood that stays in the background, so the family can move forward together.
Directed with sensitivity by Milan Joshi, the film explores love, sacrifice, and the unbreakable bond of family in a way that feels deeply familiar and timeless. Malumadi is a clean, family-friendly film, grounded in emotion, cultural values, and lived truth.
Where emotion meets tradition
Malumadi tells a story that exists, in one way or another, in every Gujarati home,
where a mother stands firm as the emotional backbone of the family.
A line from the film captures its spirit with quiet strength:
“I refuse to carry the burden of sins created by divisions of caste and identity.”
These words are more than dialogue.
They echo a mother’s moral courage, choosing humanity over prejudice, compassion over division.
While gently addressing contemporary social realities, the film reminds us that the true strength of a family lies in love, not in lines that separate us.
Music that stays with you
The film’s music is composed by Harman Mer, with lyrics written by KiranKhokhani. The title track, in particular, expresses maternal love and silent sacrifice with such simplicity that the feeling lingers long after the song ends, often saying what words cannot.
Performances that feel real
In the lead role, BhartiThakkar delivers a performance that is not just watched but deeply felt. It stands among her most sensitive and emotionally powerful portrayals to date.
She is supported by a strong ensemble cast, including AakashPandya, PriyamTalavia, GurubhaiJethwa, Diya Bhatt, Vijay Jhala, and AshitoshSolanki, along with veteran actors Ashok Patel and Niharika Dave, who bring depth and authenticity to the narrative.
Cinematographer JayeshKaushik lends the film visual warmth and realism. The project is managed by ParthNavadia, with Bharat Donda serving as Production Head.
Producer VikramPatolia shares:
“Malumadi is not just a film, it’s the story of every home.
A mother quietly holds everything together, without ever asking to be noticed.
This film is our humble effort to reflect the emotions of all such mothers.”
With digital promotions led by NexaInfotech, Malumadi has already begun forming a strong emotional connection on social media. The trailer has received encouraging responses on YouTube and Instagram, with #malumadifilm steadily gaining traction among audiences.
