With NTPC Lara’s CSR contributions at the forefront, these transformative projects will create a sustainable and inclusive growth model for Raigarh, benefiting both urban and rural communities.
RAIGARH (India CSR): The year 2025 is set to bring significant progress for the Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, with major developments in infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Key projects include the transformation of the Kelo Riverfront, bypass road expansions, and advanced medical facilities, many of which will be supported through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives by NTPC Lara and other organizations.
Kelo Riverfront Development through CSR
A major highlight of the upcoming year is the ambitious Kelo Riverfront Development Project, which will see over Rs. 50 crore invested through CSR funding. Plans for the riverfront include the construction of food courts, recreational areas, and a vibrant public space that will enhance the city’s aesthetic appeal and provide a new leisure destination for residents.
Infrastructure Expansion: Four-Lane Road and Eco-Friendly Projects
To improve connectivity, a four-lane road from Dhimrapur to Kotra Road Police Station has been proposed, easing traffic congestion in the area. Additionally, an eco-zone at Pahad Mandir will be developed to promote tourism and ecological awareness. The eco-zone will include trekking trails, rest benches, and informational boards about the local flora and fauna, adding an environmental and educational dimension to the region’s development.
Healthcare Enhancements Supported by NTPC Lara
In the healthcare sector, NTPC Lara’s CSR efforts will focus on building a 100-bed hospital in Pusaur, significantly improving access to quality healthcare in rural areas. At the same time, the Medical College in Raigarh will inaugurate a state-of-the-art cancer center, addressing critical health challenges faced by the community.
Women’s Empowerment and Skill Development
NTPC Lara’s CSR initiatives also include empowering women through the establishment of skill development and training centers. Plans are in place to build a hostel for working women, providing them with a safe and supportive environment to enhance their employability and economic independence.
Promoting Tourism in Rural Areas
Tourism in rural areas will also receive a boost, with plans to develop the Khamhar Pakut Dam in Lailunga as a tourist destination. These efforts align with NTPC’s CSR objectives to foster community development and promote local culture and heritage.
Upgraded Sports Facilities at Raigarh Stadium
To encourage youth participation in sports, Raigarh Stadium will see new facilities, including an archery court and an additional swimming pool. An athletic track will also be developed, and Rs. 13.5 crore has already been approved for these upgrades. Further plans include the construction of a skating track in Rampur, enhancing the region’s sporting infrastructure.
Commitment to Education and Libraries
Special attention will be given to education and libraries, including the development of Nalanda Campus to house a world-class library. Infrastructure improvements and educational initiatives will remain a priority to build a well-rounded and knowledgeable community.
Focus on Health and Rural Development
With a majority of the district’s population residing in rural areas, NTPC Lara aims to upgrade rural hospitals with better infrastructure and resources. These initiatives will directly impact the lives of thousands of residents by ensuring access to essential healthcare services.
CSR Driving Raigarh’s Future
According to O.P. Choudhary, MLA and Finance Minister, the vision for 2025 is clear: “Raigarh will emerge as a center for arts, industry, and modern infrastructure. The Kelo Riverfront will redefine the city, while healthcare and education will reach new heights. Guided by the Chief Minister’s leadership, we aim to elevate health, tourism, and overall development.”
