LUCKNOW: As part of its wide-ranging, empathetic response to the COVID-19 crisis, the Mahindra Group donated three ambulances to the Medical Education and Training Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The ambulances were flagged off by Suresh Kumar Khanna, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Parliamentary & Medical Education, in the presence of Shri Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, Medical Education and Training, Dr. Shyam Sunder and Sanjay Sharma from Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
The Mahindra Group has been supporting the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the fight against COVID-19 by donating 20 Oxygen Concentrators and distributed nearly 3,000 dry ration kits across villages in the State. In addition to these, the Group is also setting up two Oxygen Plants, donating 25 additional Oxygen Concentrators and three more ambulances to support the government healthcare system in Uttar Pradesh.
Reiterating Mahindra’s commitment to helping India fight the COVID-19 pandemic, Ruzbeh Irani, President – Group Human Resources and Communications, said: “COVID-19 is a health crisis unlike any other that we have faced in the past. Times like this call for solidarity above all. We, at Mahindra, have partnered with governments to scale up medical infrastructure and provide oxygen plants, oxygen concentrators, ambulances, and set up temporary COVID-19 care centers.”
In addition to installing 23 oxygen plants and donating 90 ambulances across 19 states, the Mahindra Group has committed substantial funds across India. The Group has been supporting the government’s relief efforts, re-engineering production lines and facilities to manufacture face shields, face masks and aerosol boxes, and providing ICU beds, emergency cab services, quarantine centres, oxygen-on-demand, monetary support and dry rations for the underprivileged.
