The workshop included 12 participants from ten diverse countries, including France, Kazakhstan, India, Nepal, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Cambodia, reflecting the pan-Asian scope and collaborative spirit of the initiative.
The five-day programme was structured to equip university managers and heads of international academic offices with enhanced competencies in managing internationalisation processes. The workshop addressed critical areas including partnership management, student and staff mobility, institutional marketing strategies, and project management frameworks. Through interactive sessions, case studies, and collaborative discussions, participants developed improved and more effective internationalisation structures applicable to their home institutions.

MAHE is proud to facilitate this capacity-building initiative that will have lasting implications for how universities across Asia approach global partnerships and international academic engagement. This workshop exemplifies our commitment to fostering a culture of continuous institutional development and international cooperation in higher education.”
The workshop emphasized the critical role of strategic partnerships in advancing internationalisation objectives. Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on developing sustainable institutional relationships, managing cross-border academic mobility programs, and leveraging international collaborations to enhance institutional visibility and competitiveness in the global higher education landscape.
A significant component of the program focuses on effective project management methodologies for internationalization initiatives and institutional marketing strategies for the global academic marketplace. Participants explored frameworks for managing complex international projects, measuring outcomes, and communicating institutional strengths to international audiences, thereby enhancing their institutions’ global positioning.
The DIES 2025 training course is part of a larger global initiative, with regional workshops also conducted in Kenya and Peru, ensuring comprehensive coverage of internationalization challenges and opportunities across multiple continents and educational contexts.
This workshop marks MAHE’s continued engagement with the DIES initiative, having hosted the training program since 2016.
