Gurgaon: Leading home electrical brands, Luminous Power Technologies, in collaboration with Tree Box India, will plant over 1 lakh seeds to increase green cover in the country and hosts Beej ball plantation drive across multiple cities in India under corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Nearly 1 crore trees have been cut in the last five years for development and social requirements.
India has been consistently losing its green cover over the years, which causes climate change and natural disasters.
While infrastructural development is a sign of a healthy economy, it is also important to replace the green cover with newer ones for a sustainable progress.
Beej Balls by Tree Box India is first of its kind clay ball rolled with an organic seed in it.
These clay balls have enough fertile soil and Panchgravya which is enough to germinate the seed and ensure it sprouts.
These seed balls are made by over 2000 women from the marginal section of the society.
“Our business decision to foray into solar product and offer residential solar power was in line with our belief to be sustainable and we take this forward with our recent CSR initiative, the beej ball plantation drive”, Vipul Sabharwal, Managing Director Luminous Power Technologies said.
