Luminous has been active at the CSR front, whether it is the Ghar Ka Chirag Scholarship Program or running Hospitals for the locals in the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh. In recent past it has launched two new initiatives to further it contribution to the society.
Luminous has joined hands with “Support My School” campaign, being promoted by Coca Cola and NDTV. This campaign is an effort to highlight the poor conditions of schools in semi-urban and rural India, raise funds to improve the situation and facilitate at least 100 schools and over 50000 children across India in the process.
Speaking on the association Mr. Rakesh Malhotra, Founder and Chairman, Luminous Power Technologies said “Every child has a right to study in an environment conducive for learning. It’s a pity that many schools in India, especially in the rural areas, do not have proper access to electricity and it continues to remain a huge challenge.”
He further added, “We at Luminous, which has been a power solution provider for more than two decades now, believe that this is an area of huge concern and needs immediate attention. That is why Luminous has decided to take this challenge head on by becoming a part of the “Support My School Campaign”. We are donating 100 Inverters and 100 Inverter Batteries to 100 schools all across India which will make the life of over 50000 students in rural areas slightly more comfortable and bring smiles to their faces.”
To further strengthen its stand on the cause, Luminous has already powered three schools in Thane, Ahmedabad and Bhopal respectively to combat the irregular power supply in their respective areas. This shows the commitment and resolve that Luminous has in order to make this campaign a huge success.
In addition Luminous has now come forward to provide help for the cancer research being carried out for the poor and needy and has decided to donate high capacity Invertor and Inverter Batteries to ICT (Immaculata Charitable Trust). ICT-Project alive! is an NGO which works in the field of Cancer Research located at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
Mr. Manish Pant, MD, Luminous Power Technologies, said, “Luminous feels proud that it could become a part of such a noble cause. This initiative will provide some hope to the deprived people, especially in the rural areas, with timely diagnosis and treatment of cancer”.
