LabourNet services recognised for making the workforce of India ‘Skill Ready’ across sectors

BANGALORE: LabourNet Services India, a social enterprise is honoured with the Social Enterprise Award at the at a function held last week in Mumbai, for their efforts in creating entrepreneurs & employable workforce through education and skill developments.
LabourNet is a social enterprise working towards making the workforce of India ‘Skill Ready’. They work in partnership with corporates, government, institution and individuals. With more than 100 livelihood centres and more than 90 onsite centres, LabourNet has impacted the lives of more than 5 lakh workers in India and aims to reach to 10 million in the next 5 years.
Gayathri Vasudevan, Co-Founder and CEO of LabourNet on the announcement of being honoured, said, “It started off as an effort to provide a one-stop podium for unorganized sector workers to obtain services which are currently available and accessible by formal sector workers. Today, LabourNet, has revamped itself into a Social Enterprise makes it more sustainable and providing benefits for workers across sectors through sustainable model, an end-to-end solution through a built-in 3E -Education, Employment and Entrepreneurships. “
LabourNet is a social enterprise dedicated to enabling sustainable livelihoods through skilling interventions, wage employment or self-employment. They focus on improving the socioeconomic status of the workforce in the informal sector through various ways of filling in the existing gaps. These gaps could be in the wages or the knowledge and skill levels or employability options. LabourNet was founded in 2007 and in the last three years they have scaled up considerably with its presence in 650 locations across India, across 28 sectors.
