KOCHI (India CSR): The Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) has announced Sangita Jindal, Chairperson of JSW Foundation, as a Platinum Benefactor. Known for her philanthropy and passion for the arts, Jindal’s collaboration with KBF is set to enhance the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, India’s leading art event, which has garnered both national and international recognition.
Strengthening the Arts Ecosystem
The Kochi-Muziris Biennale is celebrated for bringing together diverse artists and creating an inclusive space for cultural exchange. Through a five-year grant from JSW Foundation, this partnership will further support the festival’s infrastructure, programming, and outreach. Bose Krishnamachari, President of the Kochi Muziris Biennale, remarked, “We are thrilled to have Sangita Jindal’s visionary support. Her dedication to the arts and long-standing contributions to cultural preservation are invaluable.”
A Legacy of Supporting Art and Heritage
Sangita Jindal has long been a patron of the arts. In 1994, she founded the Jindal Arts Creative Interaction Centre at NCPA, and she publishes Art India Magazine, a leading voice in Indian art since 1996. Her heritage conservation work includes the restoration of the Hampi temple complex in Karnataka and Mumbai’s Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue, projects recognized by UNESCO.
Global Recognition and Influence
Jindal’s influence extends internationally. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the World Monuments Fund – India Chapter and has been named Chairperson of the Asia Society India Centre in 2024. “Art has the power to transform lives,” Jindal said, “and I am committed to supporting platforms that celebrate creativity and preserve our cultural heritage.”
