MUMBAI: Wockhardt Foundation, a not-for-profit organization engaged in social service and human welfare activities, is encouraging the social welfare leaders for the good work by honoring them with “Wockhardt Foundation Philanthropist Popular Award” on National Philanthropy Day. National Philanthropy Day celebrates the charitable work done by philanthropists to make a difference and create impact in their communities.
Kiran Mazumdar Shaw received maximum votes for her contributions and efforts as a Philanthropist. The Chairman & Managing Director of Biocon Limited, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, through her foundation, has done a lot of work in the areas of health, education and infrastructure, especially in rural areas of Karnataka which lack healthcare facilities.
Philanthropy is an art of giving at an exalted level, an act to enrich the world with good deeds. The world is in need of Philanthropists as not all are privileged to have the basic needs. Philanthropists are the ones who give a helping hand to the needy- be it for food, clothes, education or any need that helps build an individual, and help them grow.
