Karnataka Governor releases book on Corporate Yoga

BENGALURU: Karnataka Governor, Vajubhai Vala on 4th International Yoga Day, Thursday, released the book ‘Corporate Yoga – A Primer for Sustainable and Humanistic Leadership’ 2018 at Raj Bhawan Bengaluru, authored by Prof. Shiv Tripathi, India and Prof. Wolfgang C. Amann, Academic Programme Director at HEC Paris (Doha). Prof. Shiv Tripathi is Senior Professor and Dean, at CMR University (City Campus), Bengaluru. The book emphasizes on how morality and ethics should be developed in day-to-day decision-making and actions in the organizations.

Speaking on this occasion, the Hon’ble Governor congratulated Prof. Shiv Tripathi and Prof. Amann for their contributions to world of knowledge and management education and wished him success for their future endeavors.

Hon’ble Governor, Vajubhai Vala highlighted the Vaidic culture of knowledge and its’ significance to modern society. He said that producing knowledge is essential part of karm yoga. Giving knowledge is big responsibility of teachers and scholars. Hon’ble Governor said that giving knowledge is giving back to the society. He complemented the author for this his contribution to the world of yoga in the form of research based book.

Speaking at the occasion, Prof. Shiv Tripathi explained the purpose of authoring the book. He said, “Many of our societal and corporate problems have become global challenges. We seek to contribute to the leadership development debate by knowledge innovation; to henceforth also search globally for inspiration on how to address challenges. By transforming insights from yogic thinking into the corporate world, new solutions can be designed and executed in order to build more sustainable leadership in our corporations.”

While addressing the occasion, Prof. MS Shivakumar, Vice Chancellor of CMR University highlighted the role and responsibility of CMR University in responsible management education. He explained how University is contributing to the society by offering world class education and learning environment.

The book is published by IAP-Information Age Publishing, Inc. (2018). Book can be purchased at all leading bookstores and e-commerce websites. Both authors of the book are renowned management experts. Prior to joining CMR University, Prof. Tripathi had worked in different roles in India and abroad for more than two decades.

KC Ramamurthy, Member of Parliament – Rajyasabha and Chairman, CMR Group of Institutions also participated in the programme and congratulated the author.

Rusen Kumar, Founder and Managing Editor, India CSR Network grace the occasion and congratulated the author for his recent work.

SK Balaraman, Registrar (Evaluation), CMR University; Prof. K. Janardhanam, Director, Canara Bank School of Management Studies, Bangalore Central Universities; Dr. Basanna P. Director, School of Management; Dr. Srinivas KT, Director Schhol of Economics and Commerce; Dr. Annapoorna MS, Director, School of Social Science and Humanities and number of senior academicians of University were also present on this occasion.
