ANGUL: Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) observed the International Worker’s Day (May Day) with great enthusiasm and passion here at its Shramik Vihar on Thursday. Thousands of workmen working inside the plant gathered at the Cultural Pandal, specially constructed for workers and enjoyed the evening with educative and entertainment programmes.
The programme encompassed a PALA , a folk style presentation on sensitization on HIV/AIDs , a documentary film on Shri O.P. Jindal the founder of OP Jindal group, a film on JSPL and a few Hindi movies which filled their evening with mirth and excitement..
Greeting on this special day, in his message, the Angul Location Head and Executive Director (I/C) Mr. Dinesh Kumar Saraogi, said, “We appreciate the determination and working skill of our workforce, who are putting their paramount skill and sweat to materialize the vision of JSPL in building the Nation of everyone’s dream”. Mr Saraogi conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Hon’ble Naveen Jindal , Chairman JSPL and Hon’ble MP to each and every workmen of JSPL and of India and the world on the International Labour Day.
The sensitization programme on HIV/AIDs was organized by Utkal Sevak Samaj a Non-Government Organisation supported by the Corporate Social Responsible (CSR) department of JSPL and conducted counseling of the workmen, distributed leaf-let and performed Pala (a popular cultural institution responsible for the popularization of a theme) on HIV/AIDs.
“I greet and congratulate all my fellow working people, of JSPL, India and the whole world for gaining dignity, freedom and their right to be counted as an equal partner in the production process, symbolised through the May Day” said Dr S.K. Mahapatra, Vice President and Head of Human Resourecs Dept of JSPL , Angul .
This event was successfully organized under the guidance of Mr. B.B Pradhan, Sr. GM(HR) and Mr. Ajay Kumar Satapathy, AGM (HR) and the HR & Admin team of JSPL , Angul.
