Bhubaneswar/Mumbai: Jindal Steel & Power, a leading steel manufacturer, has won the Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility in the Steel Sector. The award was received by the company’s President and Group Head of CSR, Prashant Kumar Hota, on January 12, 2022 at the 17th International Conference on CSR in Mumbai.
The award was presented by Union Minister of State Law & Justice, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel. This is the second Golden Peacock CSR Award for the company, which has been recognized for its holistic CSR efforts led by JSP Foundation, aimed at improving the quality of life for communities around its operations and beyond.
The award jury was headed by Former Chief Justice of India, M.N. Venkatachaliah.
JSP Foundation’s chairperson, Smt. Shallu Jindal, expressed her gratitude to the jury and IOD, stating that receiving this prestigious award makes the company more accountable to the people and committed to sustainable improvement in the quality of life for vulnerable and underprivileged communities across the country. She also mentioned that the company is aligned with 16 out of 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and is actively working to improve the Human Development Index in India.
