A Foundation of Purpose: Innova Captab’s CSR Philosophy

Innova Captab’s approach to CSR is rooted in its fundamental value system, which prioritizes “giving back to the society”. The company views CSR as an integral part of its commitment to good corporate citizenship, striving to actively assist in improving the quality of life for people in communities, particularly focusing on socially and economically backward groups, the underprivileged, and the marginalized. This commitment is not merely a legal obligation but a strategic focus on generating both social and environmental benefits, ensuring that their progress aligns with responsible ecological management and community empowerment. The company’s CSR policy, approved by its Board, guides these initiatives and is readily accessible to stakeholders.

Dissecting the Financial Commitment: FY 2025 CSR Spending Report

For the financial year ended March 31, 2025, Innova Captab’s CSR obligation was determined by Section 135(5) of the Companies Act, based on 2% of its average net profit. This amounted to Rs 1.74 crores (Rs 1,73,69,152.00). The company also had a surplus of Rs 22.12 lakhs (Rs 22,12,077.00) from previous financial years available for set-off. After accounting for this set-off, the net total CSR obligation for FY 2025 stood at Rs 1.52 crores (Rs 1,51,57,075.00).

However, Innova Captab’s actual expenditure exceeded this obligation, demonstrating a proactive stance towards social investment. The company spent a total of Rs 2.07 crores (Rs 2,07,34,997.00) on CSR activities during the year. This includes Rs 1.85 crores (Rs 1,85,22,920.00) directly on CSR projects, with no amount spent on administrative overheads related to these initiatives. This excess spending of Rs 33.66 lakhs (Rs 33,65,845.00) is now available for set-off against future CSR obligations in succeeding financial years. The company reported no shortfall in its CSR spending for FY 2025.

Areas of Impact: Initiatives Driving Change

Innova Captab’s CSR activities are diverse, addressing critical societal needs. The nature of CSR activities includes:

  • Eradication of hunger and malnutrition.
  • Promoting education.
  • Promoting rural sports, art, and culture.
  • Healthcare.
  • Destitute care and rehabilitation.
  • Animal welfare.
  • Employment enhancing vocational training.

A notable portion of the CSR expenditure, specifically Rs 54 lakhs (Rs 54,00,000.00), was incurred by Univentis Foundation, a subsidiary of Innova Captab, through various implementing agencies. This highlights a collaborative approach within the group to maximize social impact. Promoting healthcare and education also saw significant investment, with Rs 55.48 lakhs (Rs 55,47,848.00) channeled through Univentis Foundation in Panchkula, Haryana, and Rs 5 lakhs (Rs 5,00,000.00) through Red Cross Society in Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
