NEW DELHI: IndiaCSR Community Initiative second annual award function was organized at PHD House, New Delhi on Friday, 26 February, 2016. This year’s award edition also released a book, IndiaCSR Case Studies, with successful awardee winner corporate social responsibility projects.
IndiaCSR, the dedicated CSR media house, has been consistently working for last 8 years in domain of CSR promotion in India. IndiaCSR awards annual ceremony was supported and sponsored by Wockhardt Foundation and BIMTECH.
Leading business houses including Vedanta Limited, Finolex Industries Limited, Jindal Steel & Power Limited, ACC Cement-Kymore Cement Works, OP Jindal Community College-Raigarh and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited have been awarded the IndiaCSR Community Initiative Awards 2015 in domain excellence for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The Case Studies were meticulously reviewed by a panel of eminent jury members.

Vedanta Limited: Community Health Program in Lanjigarh region of Odisha
The case study on Aarogya Jeevan Sukhi Jeevan through Vedanta Hospital, MHU Service, NVN Dispensary, MSJK Hospital and Health-Awareness Program highlights the Community Health Program of Vedanta Limited. The program has resulted in more awareness in the target group and has resulted in malaria, diarrhoea and malnutrition among the kids. The successful case presents an opportunity for the other organisations, which are planning CSR project for healthcare.
Finolex Industries: Inclusive Growth through Education – an Experiment at Ratnagiri
The case study on Inclusive Growth through Education presents the CSR project by Finolex at Ratnagiri. The Mukul Madhav Foundation is working to provide English medium education to the deprived children with an objective to make them confident and employable. The case presents the various challenges faced in the implementation of the project and the solutions adopted by the organisation. The project ensured quality education to the boys and girls from lower income groups and skilling them to achieve their goals.
OP Jindal Community College-Raigarh: Skilling Rural Women for Sustainable Livelihoods under Aparajita project
The case study on CSR P
roject Aparajita by OP Jindal Community College is about skilling rural women for sustainable livelihoods. The college, implementing the project of JSPL, is running mobile skills development programmes in the remote places with an objective of employability. The case discussed the sociocultural constraints and realigning the mind-set of the beneficiaries.
Mahindra Finance: Co-Creating Opportunities, Empowering Lives
The case on Co-Creating Opportunities, Empowering Lives describes the unique CSR project by Mahindra Finance with the objective of providing support to rural communities, by providing them access to clean fuel with Bio-gas and improved output of cotton farmers.
ACC Cement, Kymore Cement Works: Creating Sustainable Livelihood for 2500 Rural Women and Youth
The case study of Kymore Cement Works (ACC Cement), creating sustainable livelihood for 2500 rural women and youth presents the work done by the organisation in helping the women start their own business. The empowered women improved the livelihood and help organisation reduce the pressure of employment.

The case study on providing education for society’s future – improving quality and reach (Kymore Cement Works- ACC Cement) focuses on enhancing literacy and education for community through improving the Quality & Reach of Education.
Jindal Steel & Power Limited: Participatory Watershed Management Programme in Odisha
The case study on participatory watershed management programme (a community-NABARD-JSPL collaborative project) presents the close involvement of the user-communities, with the objective of soil, water and bio-mass conservation leading to increase in crop production and productivity the projects have ambitious goals. More than 5000 horticulture and forest trees have been planted and about 4000 soil conservation structures have been created in the watershed area. Total geographical areas of 3450 acres are being treated under the project from ridge to valley, based on net planning. JSPL had signed a MoU with NABARD for implementation of the watershed project in 2013.
The awards provide a catalytic boost to the CSR processes by recognising the outstanding achievers in the domain of CSR.
